Mission
Word of Life Christian Academy is committed to providing students with an education that promotes growth in all areas of development: spiritual, academic, physical, and emotional. We are privileged to be able to reinforce Biblical teaching and Christian values at school that correspond with those taught at home. We have the opportunity to positively impact children’s lives by sharing God’s Word and showing students how they can apply it in their own lives in and outside of the classroom. Children take this strong educational base and can be a light for Jesus in their homes and community.
Philosophy
We believe children should be offered a quality education using comprehensive curriculum with Christian values. Our students enjoy a fun and exciting learning environment in which they can receive individualized instruction.
We Believe
The Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative written Word of God
There is one true God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His personal future return to this earth in power and glory to rule a thousand years.
In the blessed hope – the rapture of the church at Christ’s coming.
The only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the precious blood of Christ.Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation.
In water baptism by immersion.
The redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing of the human body in answer to believing prayer.
The baptism in the Holy Spirit according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it.
In the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life.
In the resurrection of the saved and the lost, the one to everlasting life and the other to everlasting damnation.
Safety
Word of Life Christian Academy is located in the south campus of the Word of Life Assembly of God church. The school portion of the building remains locked during school hours. Guests and late students must enter from the Elizabeth Street entrance facing the playground by identifying themselves to the office through the video intercom at that entrance (as well as sign in and out in the school’s main office). The building is equipped with an overnight security system and is always locked. Our staff receives yearly security training.
Transportation
Word of Life Christian Academy serves families in over 10 school districts. Each family is responsible for the transportation of students to and from the Academy. New York State public school busing is available to students who live within a 15 mile radius of WOLCA. Parents must submit their bus request to their district’s bus garage each year by April 1st.
